Montreal Brunch: Only the Best

Part of Montreal culture is both knowing of and going to the coolest most succulent brunch spots in the city. Ah, I just love late-morning brunches!! Not only it's a time when you and your friends get together to gossip but it is also a good way to start your day drinking without judgement. No one is going to say anything when you have four mimosas or four bloody Marys :)

Since I like to try and discover new things, I will tell you guys all of my absolute favorite places in the city. So this week is one of my favorite spots...

I heart: Le Cartet

106 McGill, Montreal H2Y 2E5

VIBE
Located on McGill near the Old City, Le Cartet is a mix of a chic boutique and a lively brunch house. Big lofty space with crafty art pieces hanging on white brick walls, with lamps hanging down from the ceiling. At the front of the business, you can find savory quick-meals or snacks to go, like sandwiches, salads, chocolates, muffins, smoothies, and so much more.

FOOD
I always order Brunch des Cantons or Brunch Toscan. Each plate includes orange juice and coffee (and a mimosa for a few bucks more).
- Brunch des Cantons (their version of the big breakfast): scramble egg with country style ham, sausage, bacon, potatoes (hello calories!!) and fresh fruits. All served in a cast iron pan.
- Brunch Toscan: poached eggs served on English muffins, ham with spinach coated with Murnay sauce, potatoes and fresh fruits.
Price: approx. 17$ - 22$

VERDICT
I love this place! Good selection of food and the servings are generous. The servers are super friendly and very prompt. Not overpriced.. reasonable considering its location in Old Montreal.

Pros - The crowd is usually filled with cool, young urban people. There are always good looking boys to stare at :)
Cons - It's pretty busy on the weekends. I usually go there on Sunday around 11AM and the waiting time is 20-30 minutes, but it is so worth it.
