When it comes to makeup, I shop wisely. It's weird since I buy on impulse for practically everything else. But really, when it comes to makeup or skincare, I like to read the reviews and compare the products and prices. Most of the time, I end up happy with the purchase.
Not long ago, I bought Laura Mercier primer ($40). I've wanted this primer basically forever - have heard so many people talk about how much they love this product. I finally gave in and bought it.
what. a. disappointment.
It does what it's supposed to. It controls the oil on the oily parts of the face, but doesn't dry out the less oily parts.
BUT I was still disappointed. First, this primer is pricey (I don't mind paying.. but for quality please!) I would expect more from such a well known brand. Second, the packaging sucks. I cannot believe they have not reconsider redesigning the tube after all the negative reviews about it. Like others have said, the cap leaks, even just sitting cap-down on my bathroom vanity! At first, I thought I just screwed the cap on improperly. Wrong. It leaks every time that I travel by plane. I found the primer leaked all over my makeup bag. Big mess. This is so frustrating when the tube is brand new. For that amount of money, I feel ripped off. Really, I think they have a problem with the packaging of their products (the cleansing oil bottle also leaks). I don't think I'd buy their products again...
